Free Plugins. The first is in my main menu navigation, under the drop-down of "services" there is a sub-category that I'm attempting to link to the parent company site.
I selected the menu link as "external url" type, and input the correct url link address. This link does not work, it attempts to keep the base url in the new address and I get a error instead of it using the new url that I've given the menu link? The second place I'm doing this is in a sub-navigation menu that only appears on certain pages. Here the external link is a top-level menu item, I set it up the exact same way as above, and it works fine, opens the parent company's url in a new target window.
Any idea why this isn't working on my drop-down menu? The link that doesn't work properly is in the "services" drop down section of the main menu, link "cinema services". It is a 3rd party extension, a module I actually looked for it at your suggestion on how best to implement a drop down menu!
My thoughts are that it could have something to do with the menu's instruction over sub-level links and how they insert portions of the url before the link? It is worth noting that the menu that allows this link to work correctly is a standard menu as created by joomla, meaning no modules or extensions applied to it.
