Although Margaret has no experience raising and showing pigs, she has noticed during the past few years at the Sale of Champions that there is a need to support the children that raise and show pigs.
And, she thinks the pigs are cute! Margaret and her husband, Colby, live in Fort Worth, and want to show support for kids across the great State of Texas who work hard to raise these animals, as they admire their dedication and commitment.
Janie spent her childhood raising and showing pigs across Texas, ironically exhibiting 9 years at the Fort Worth Stock Show. She knows firsthand the time and finances it takes to raise and exhibit animals for these types of shows, which leads her desire to be part of a group that gives back to the hard-working kids, families and supervisors that raise these animals. Janie and her husband, Jay, who also raised and exhibited pigs live in Aledo and continue to be involved and support each of their respective FFA and 4-H organizations where they grew up.

God bless. I was so sorry to find out your mom had passed away. She loved her family to the moon and back. I was a fellow educator who taught Whitney in first grade and Whitt was a great volunteer. She will be missed.
She was a great example of unconditional love. Someone talking to Mamma? Must be "my ole long tall skinny blonde" my brother said he might bring home. Whitt -- what kind of name was that? When I stumbled to the kitchen, there she was, bobbing and dancing, talking to Mamma while she cooked breakfast.
She talked to my little brother Tom and I like we mattered, like she cared. In a house of Cardwells prone to talk little and no small talk at all, she was novel and a delight. Tom was a couple of years older than Lucy is now. He so loved Whitt, he followed her to the bathroom, waiting outside the door until she came out. We had great times that summer. To the carnival, dressed in chartreuse, one-piece, pleated, culotte dress a foot above her knees, her legs went on forever.
She turned every head in Nocona. The next day, in a blue polka dot bikini, playing frisbe in the front yard, Whitt caused a parade of cars by Dallas Street. Whitt was exotic and exciting in a town of We had secret adventures to check out the last girlfriend without Whitt being detected. On our own one afternoon, we went to Gainesville to see Rosemary's Baby.
Before the end, we were hiding in our seats holding hands in fright. When the lights came up and we turned to leave, we were the only people in the theater except the ticket man and popcorn man in the back row. Instantly we ran hard for the door, laughing and silly once outside.
We walked miles window shopping. Whitt had such great taste, my pearls a tribute to her taste. Whitt was such fun, it was just cool to be with her. Great memories. Much missed. I met Whit as one of the Dining Divas. She was such a friend to all she met and was always up for doing something fun. Whit was a beautiful person both inwardly and outward. What a joy Whitt was to my life! She was always smiling and saw humor in everything. She kept us laughing!
Her heart was so big and giving. We have all lost a jewel of a person, but Heaven has gained her awesome soul. May God wrap the family in grace and comfort. Thank you for sharing Whitt with the rest of us! Thank you for sharing the wonderful pictures. Whitt's gift to the world is showing the rest of us how to live each day with laughter and love.
Her smile could brighten the grayest of days. We met at Water Aerobics class in McKinney. We shared stories of our daughters and granddaughters often.
Lucy was a source of constant delight to Whitt! All of you brought so much joy to her! Thank you for contributing to the person that I knew by loving her so well.
I met Whitt on a hot summer afternoon a few years ago at the neighborhood pool. She was there swimming and having fun with her daughter Meghan and granddaughter Lucy. I could tell Whitt never met a stranger and I gravitated toward her laughter and smile.
We all were chatting it up when in walked the most attractive man I think we all had ever seen. The chatting stopped and all of the sudden we were all silent.
Whitt then said something like "We may get older but still always appreciate an attractive fellow. When the handsome fellow left we all got silent again and watched him walk toward the door and there was Whitt "Y'all want me to follow him home and see where he lives She was an amazing woman and will always be remembered. My condolences to Meghan, Bascom, Lucy and the whole family. Sending our love and prayers.
I do not have words for how heartbroken I am to have heard the news! Whitt was an incredible resident at our property and her loss was devastating. The joy she would have would simply radiate every time she would come into the office.
I would be in my back office and would hear her voice and run to the front so I could speak with her. She always brought a smile to my face and we all looked forward to when she would come in. She is going to be missed so very much! The Lord has gained such a special person! To all her family, I am so sorry for your loss and you will be in my prayers during this time! Whitt was such a genuine friend and beautiful on the inside and out. I will always remember her love of family and friends.
She was always a great listener and conversationalist! My fondest memories are of her travels to the beach, the shells she collected andthe stories she would share all the while rocking in her beautiful Bentwood rocking chair! Whitney, Meghan and family, I am sorry for the loss of your precious mom. I am from the dinner group Dining Divas and met Whitt at one of our dinners.
We became very close friends. She was so kind, funny and impressive to me.
